I.I.T. Ropar invites applications from Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), who are exceptionally bright and motivated, with an established record of independent, high quality research and commitment to teaching for faculty positions in all disciplines of interest to the Institute in the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Humanities & Social Sciences.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE: (Regular as well as Contractual)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Professor	Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of 10 years experience of which atleast 5 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor.
Associate Professor	Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of 8 years experience of which atleast 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor.
Assistant Professor	Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and atleast 3 years industrial/research/teaching experience. Preferably below 35 years of age.

An outstanding engineer/technologist working in industry and with an established reputation and who has made significant contribution, equivalent to a Ph.D. degree could also be considered for appointment to the post of Associate Professor on contract basis. Such appointment will be made only sparingly and in extremely deserving cases with the approval of Chairman, IIT Council/Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Faculty taken on Contract will be for a period up to 3 years on a regular pay scale renewable on a year to year basis.

(inclusive of Basic Pay + Dearness Pay + Dearness Allowance)

Professor	Between Rs. 40,000/- and Rs. 49,000/-
Associate Professor	Between Rs. 36,000/- and Rs. 44,000/-
Assistant Professor	Between Rs. 26,000/- and Rs. 40,000/-

Note: Scales of Pay are under revision consequent to implementation of 6th Pay commission recommendations.
